What was the best thing that happened to you in 2006?

‘I did a sky dive for a charity called SIRF with three of my mates and Jodi. It was an unreal experience, that amazing feeling of being in freefall and then pulling your parachute. It was pretty mind-blowing.’

What are you most looking forward to in 2007?

‘Obviously going out on tour again – that’s always a great time of year. I always really look forward to summertime as well, when I’m back in Ireland having barbeques with my mates and living a normal life. I always look forward to a nice break in the summer.’

What’s your biggest luxury?

‘It would have to be holidays. We don’t get loads of time off, so when we do, I like to go away somewhere with a nice beach where I can chill out and surf and not do very much. That’s my idea of heaven.’

What’s your greatest fear?

‘I know it’s obvious thing to say, but it would have to be something happening to any of my family or friends. Nothing else really matters and I’m not scared of much that I can think of!’

What’s your favourite album or song right now?

‘Jack Johnson’s last record was one of my favourite albums of last year. I love the chill out vibe of it and it reminds me of being away on holidays with Jodi. One or two of his songs gave become ‘our’ songs now, so it has special memories for me.’

What’s your current favourite food?

‘I’ve turned into a massive sushi fan and I love avocados at the moment. I’m always making smoothies too. I’ve got big into cooking recently as well. I like to get people round, pick up a cook book and just do whatever I fancy the look of at the time.’

What’s the last thing you bought?

‘I bought a telescope recently and I’m really loving it. I’m just fascinated by the stars and really intrigued about looking at them, no matter how geekish it sounds’

What’s the one thing you never travel without?

‘My laptop. I’m big into photography so I spend a lot of time editing photographs and playing around with them on the laptop. I’m always on the internet too, and I’ve become a bit of an online shopaholic, rather than getting off my arse and going into the shops.’

Where’s your favourite place to go on holiday?

Barbados is my best holiday without a doubt. It’s the most beautiful place I’ve ever been to. I love the ocean and I spent most of my time diving and snorkeling there. It was fantastic.’

If you were invisible for a day, what would you do?

‘I’d see if I could get away with robbing a bank. Just for the fun of it.’

Who’s your hero?

‘Shane wants me to say him so, to keep him happy, I’ll say him.’

What one question would you like to answer to?

‘Why do we exist?’

What’s your biggest wish right now?

‘I’m pretty happy with things so I just wish the tour goes well and nothing goes wrong.’

If you weren’t in Westlife, what would you do?

‘I’d probably be trying to be in a band like Westlife’

What would be the perfect present someone could buy you?

‘Jodi got me a new surfboard for Christmas and that certainly put a smile on my face, so you’d never loose if you gave me something like that.’

How would you describe yourself?

‘If you’d asked me three years ago, I would have said stressed, panicky and always trying to make sure everything is right. Now, though, I’m quite relaxed and just enjoying life.’

Tell us something we don’t know about you.

‘I’ve become really interested in art over the last couple of years. I like anything that’s pleasing to the eye or that I think is interesting. I’ve got some cartoony pictures, some funky paintings of Jimi Hendrix and some really modern stuff. My house and apartment look like art galleries!’
